WOPHA presents the next edition of Placing Political Art in Spring 2021
/ 12.28.2020
WOPHA Co-Founder Francisco Masó received the 2020 Ellies Creator Award from Oolite Arts for Placing Political Art, a 15-day art-on-loan program that made political art accessible by placing works in the homes of more than 100 Miami residents. A pilot edition of the project was supported by the alternative art space Dimensions Variable.
WOPHA is proud to present the next edition of Placing Political Art, which will take place from April through June of 2021. The project will invite 25 emerging women-identified photographers, whose politically-based work explores topics such as feminisms, body politics, social justice, climate crisis, and beyond. Each photograph, selected in collaboration with the photographer, will be printed, framed, and placed in residents’ homes through an easy equitable process that enhances one’s space while empowering participants, on a daily basis, to challenge injustice and promote positive individual and social actions.
Placing Political Art is made possible with the support of Oolite Arts. It is presented in partnership with Miami Design District (MDD).
